Empowering People, Enabling Systems

From fragmentation to coherence through collaborative, constructive communication©

Our Vision

‘Who Works!’ seeks to embolden public services to prioritise people over processes, creating structures that enable the interaction of people as the primary vehicle of sustained transformation and improvement

Our Mission

‘Who Works!’ exists to provide practical, accessible solutions to UK public service leaders, commissioners, decision-makers, practitioners and communities, helping them transition from rigid, process-led service models to ones that are relational, humanistic, and more effective.

How we help

Leadership Development

The demand for integrated and collaborative services calls for leadership cultures and approaches that value and promote relational and transformational leadership. Our leadership development programmes help nurture leaders who create and innovate to instil vision and narrative that informs the process of change. Our models recognise the world as it is rather as we wish it to be, and thus create models that work with existing systems by promoting the role of human interaction as the vehicle for change.

Interprofessional Communication

As a primary vehicle for collaborative and integrated working, multidisciplinary (MDT) arrangements have a great deal to offer. But all too often we don't bring enough attention to how people are expected to relate and interact in those spaces. This opens up possibilities for conflict and service frictions, which create the gaps in provision that cause poor outcomes. Our approach to interprofessional communications creates networks amongst people that helps individuals recognise their own value as a platform for meaningful engagements and interactions across professional, team, service, organisation and sector boundaries, generating new thinking and new knowledge that drive and embed change.

Strategic Planning & Implementation

We offer strategic planning and implementation support to assist public service organisations in navigating the evolving landscape. Our approach emphasises adaptive, emergent strategies, stakeholder engagement, and sustainable outcomes which respond to the internal and external conditions our partners are experiencing. We do this by supporting them to recognise and assess the strengths they have to manage threats and the weaknesses they may need to resolve to capitalise on opportunities. We particularly promote knowledge-based and learning-based strategies that recognise the transformative power of interpersonal interaction and knowledge-share as the primary vehicle for delivering and embedding strategies and visions.

Organisational Culture Enhancement

Transforming service models requires a cultural shift in leadership and learning. We work with leaders to cultivate an organisational culture characterised by empathy, inclusivity, and innovation, driving meaningful change within their teams and services. Organisations that promote humanistic and relational approaches to organisational arrangements are better placed to manage and respond to increasing complexity by encouraging emergent and responsive services to communities.
